Product Recall Surveillance Inspection on Canned 330ml Red Grape Liqui Fruit

Following the Ministry of Health and Wellness directive that a contaminated product (canned 330ml Liqui Fruit Red Grape Juice) should be recalled with immediate effect; the Competition and Consumer Authority, which is the primary consumer protection agency, undertook a surveillance inspection to ensure that there is compliance with the health directive, and most importantly to ensure that consumers are not exposed to health risks.

The surveillance covered 18 villages and towns where 169 retailers and distributors were inspected.

  • Arising from these inspections no items bearing the batch numbers were found on shop shelves.
  • However, a total of 3640 cases of Liqui Fruit red grape bearing the same batch numbers were found at two major distributors of the product. These were however proactively cordoned off by the distributors following communication from the Producer/manufacturer. The items have been sealed off awaiting further instruction.
  • The Authority is satisfied that the contaminated product had not reached the shop shelves.

However, consumers are still urged to be vigilant and ensure that they do not consume nor buy the Red Grape Liqui Fruit bearing the following product details:
